Mon to Fri: 10AM - 8PM
Weekend: 11AM - 5PM
1-Measure the skirt that’s too big across the waist,
2-Next, take a Skirt that fits you and measures it across the core.
3-Using a seam ripper, unpick the stitches from the waistband. How far you unstitch depends on how much you’re going to take off the band.
I usually unstitch an inch or two on each side of the waistband.
4-Flip the waistband inside out, as shown below.
Pin and sew as much as you need to. I took off 1″ from each side.
Here’s a closer look. After you pin and sew, trim off the excess fabric and turn it back inside out.
5-Once you flip both sides inside out again.
At this point, your skirt is too big in the hip area. Also, sew off as much as you need to. Stop sewing after the hip area unless you want to tighten the entire skirt down to the hem.
6-Then, pin and sew the waistband back in place.
That’s it! You’ve got a new favorite denim skirt. 🙂
Jeans are one of the most worn clothing items today, if not the most. One of the worst things to do is throw away or donate a pair of your favorite jeans because they no longer fit or are worn out because of constant use. Alteration At Home can help you bring your jeans back to you. Please don’t throw away another pair of jeans that you adore. Instead, get it to Alteration At Home so we can help you.
It’s essential to have a pair of jeans that fit perfectly.
By that, we mean jeans you can wear remotely anywhere. Going hiking in the woods in those jeans, a night out with friends or family, or just watching a movie at home; it’s essential to be completely comfortable. Furthermore, whether tight or loose cut makes all the difference in their conformability, durability, and performance. Also, if you have a favorite pair of jeans or jean shorts that you need to fix, bring them to Alteration At Home.
